Disney and Marvel have given fans their first real look at the new series. Released in conjunction with this weekend’s D2. Expo in Anaheim, CA, the opening theme for Big Hero 6: The Series has been unveiled online. And in addition to featuring the return of the film’s many lovable characters, the intro also offers brief glimpses into what Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter) and Baymax’s (Scott Adsit) everyday lives are like, following their first superhero mission at the end of the original film. Check out the show’s opening for yourself in the space above.

The Big Hero 6 TV series will pick up immediately after the events of the film, with Hiro and Baymax teaming up again along with their friends, Wasabi (Khary Payton), Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez), Go Go (Jamie Chung), and Fred (Brooks Wheelan), to form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6, and embark on high- tech adventures – intent on protecting their city from a wide array of scientifically- enhanced villains. All of this is happening, of course, while Hiro is busy trying to balance his normal day- to- day life, and facing daunting academic challenges and social trials as the famous- new prodigy at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. Despite Disney’s apparent lack of interest in any more Big Hero 6- related feature- length projects, the studio appears to be more than confident in the TV series, after giving Big Hero 6: The Series a second season renewal months before it’s even premiered. That means that Big Hero 6 is already guaranteed to have a longer life span on the small screen than it did on the big, which is either indicative of the kinds of stories the studio wanted to pursue in this world, or the level of faith they have in the property. Either way, with Kim Possible creators Mark Mc.

Corkle and Bob Schooley involved behind the scenes, Big Hero 6: The Series certainly has more than it needs in order to find success on the small screen. Big Hero 6: The Series  premieres on Disney XD this Fall. Source: Disney XD.
